Dr. Gabriel and others' stories of Haiti covered in the Columbian newspaper.
Tom Vogt, of the The Columbian newspaper recently wrote an incredibly moving story about local residents linked to the devastating January 12, 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
Featured in that story is Dr. Allen Gabriel, his wife Cassie Gabriel (an anesthesiologist with Columbia Anestheia Group), his medical assistant, Shelby Gialich, and Matt Schoolfield, a Vancouver photographer who works for Southwest Medical Group.
Here is an excerpt from that article:
“It was so devastating,” [Dr. Gabriel] said. At Hôpital Adventiste, a medical center in Port-au-Prince, “There were patients everywhere,” he said. “All three times I was there, I slept in a cot in a hallway.”

Given the level of positive national and international response to the article, it's no real surprise that it made the top ten list. In fact, since the press release went out on September 2, 2010, hundreds of plastic surgery practices and news outlets (including MSNBC) have covered the story.
